Take a gander at what has never before been seen in our cave, at least not permanently lit for all to see. New color-correct LED lighting reveals true color, detail and scale in these beautiful formations.
The two large stalactites (we have named one “The Incisor”) at the bend between Storm Canyon and The Cathedral Room represent some of the largest of any formations in the cave.
We are about finished with Zones 8 and 9 (Storm Canyon and the Cathedral Room) and have started on Zone 7 (Imagination Room).
Thanks to a bevy of volunteers from Grottos (Spelunker Chapters of the National Speleological Society) in Texas who continue to work on the lighting based on designs developed over the last year.
You may see some of these seemingly tireless folks on your next trip out. Please thank them for making the cave more beautiful and sustainable for the future. In fact all of the caves of Texas, commercial and non-commercial, benefit from these folks and their expertise and labors.
